Launched in January 2022, the CISAM+ project builds on the foundations of CISAM by replicating its open innovation model through the creation of eight new thematic branches (health technologies, sustainable development, cultural and creative industries) across the campuses of Aix-Marseille University (AMU) and the CNRS in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, and Arles.
With the ambition of supporting innovative projects from conception to market launch, CISAM+ is designed to be embedded in both education and research. It aims to engage more closely with students and raise awareness among campus stakeholders about societal and technological innovations.
Funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) under the France 2030 program, the CISAM+ project seeks to strengthen the innovation ecosystem across Aix-Marseille University campuses.
The project includes an interdisciplinary training offer focused on innovation, support for innovative initiatives through a network of prototyping services integrated into the various campuses, and a mission to foster open innovation through strengthened cooperation between students, researchers, and socio-economic actors around innovative projects. By supporting transformative projects, CISAM+ also contributes to the reindustrialization of the region—one of the strategic priorities of France 2030.
The main goal is to meet the challenge of innovation by combining individual and collective expertise in research, engineering, management, and design.
CISAM+ focuses on three priority interdisciplinary themes, combining scientific excellence with strong relevance to the region:
